Whitelisting Aegisguard from KLab: Free Downloads to Prevent Viruses

Keeping information secure even from unknown viruses

KLab announces the release of Aegisguard, a whitelist-based antivirus software available for free personal download on October 6.

The explosive nature of unidentified viruses and attacks targeting specific organizations are increasingly causing information to be hacked and cannot be adequately deflected by conventional pattern-matching or blacklisting antivirus software. To remedy the situation, KLab developed new technology for anti-virus software that utilizes a whitelist approach to allow file access only by trusted programs. To research user trends while working to make whitelisting a mainstream approach to virus prevention, KLab is offering downloads of Aegisguard free of charge. Aegisguard can be obtained at:

Features

  • Protects information even from unknown viruses
By blocking file access by all programs not registered to the Aegisguard whitelist, information can be protected from even unknown viruses without the need for pattern files.
  • No need for virus definition updates
Bulky blacklist updates that tax PC operation are no longer needed.
  • Aegisguardis lightweight and works alongside other virus software
The program is just about 2 MB. Aegisguardcan be teamed up with pattern matching virus software to provide even more solid protection against viruses and other malware.
